Asia’s first official endurance swimrun is coming to Japan: Pacific Coast Endurance Challenge Kaiyo 2017
Choice of 3 events: Swimrun / Open water swim race/ Sea kayak challenge (enter in 1, 2 or all 3 events).
Date: May 27-28
Location: Tokushima Prefecture (Shikoku island)
Entries are currently open online in Japanese.
An English entry page is in progress and will be available soon, but note that only 50 pairs will be accepted for the swimrun so you’ll need to get entry in soon!
Entry deadline for all events is May 15. But may fill up before then. First pay, first served basis.
Date: May 27 Saturday
Start time: 1pm
Course: 17km (alternating swimming and running. 25% of the course will be swimming).
Entry categories: All entrants must be a pair. You can either enter as:
Capacity: Max. 50 pairs
(regardless of the above category combination). Only 50 pairs will be accepted.
Entry fee: 19, 000yen per pair (online entry) or 20,000yen entry for postal/fax entry.

Open Water Swim race
Date: May 28 Sunday
Distance options: 3km or 1.5km (by gender category)
Start time: 9:30am for 3km swim. 11:30am for 1.5km swim
Entry fee: 7000yen for the 3km swim. 5000yen for the 1.5km swim. Add 500yen if entering by post/fax.
Capacity: 120 people per race distance
Qualifying criteria: You should be able to swim 3km within 100minute or swim 1.5km within 45minutes.
Sea Kayak race
Sunday May 28.
Option to enter tandem or single kayak.
